This week in our teacher meeting I will be discussing discipline. The Bible teaches us that "The Lord disciplines those He loves". Let us show the kids that we love them by establishing safe boundries and creating an atmosphere of reverant fun. In order to discipline correctly we need to remember some safe rules...
NEVER use physical discipline...take the time to talk with a disrespectful child maybe there is more that mets the eye.
Never discipline when you are angry...children are waiting to see your depth of love for them.
Never embarrass a child in front of his/her peers...humiliation is not good for motivation.
Always share your expectations before class begins...children are by nature "people pleasers".
Always reward good behaviour...it motivates more than punishment for bad behavior.
Above all else remember that when we stand in front of the classroom we become an image of what God is like...think about this before you react.
